Our purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.  JA programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to manage money effectively and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.
Our Core Purpose
Junior Achievement was founded in 1919 by Theodore Vail, president of American Telephone & Telegraph and Horace Moses, president of Strathmore Paper Co.
In 1975 the organization went from an after-school only program to include the elementary and middle school classrooms
Brief History
Proven Success
Last year JA reached over 11,500 students in 468 classrooms locally.
Many businesses and community volunteers helped support this success by funding programs or mentoring our students in 7 key content areas:  Business, Citizenship, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Ethics/Character, Financial Literacy and Career Development.
